Accessibility

Learning software that only works for some learners is not doing its job. We build against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and treat accessibility defects as functional defects.

What we build against

• Keyboard operability for all interactive elements, with a visible focus indicator;
• Colour contrast meeting AA thresholds for body and interface text;
• Semantic structure and ARIA labelling so screen readers can navigate meaningfully;
• Respect for reduced-motion preferences across animation and transitions;
• Text alternatives for meaningful images, icons and media;
• Layouts that reflow without loss of content at increased zoom levels.

Learning-specific considerations

Our tutoring and speech features are voice-forward, which creates barriers for some learners. We therefore maintain text equivalents for spoken instruction, allow lessons to be advanced without speaking, and support adjustable playback and narration speed.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a finished state. We audit periodically, prioritise reported barriers alongside other defects, and are continuing to improve coverage across our interactive simulation and assessment surfaces.

Reporting a barrier

If you encounter something on our website or platform that you cannot use, please tell us at devs@classrootsedu.com. Include the page, the assistive technology you were using and what you expected to happen. We will acknowledge the report and let you know how we plan to address it.
