Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 July 2026

These terms govern your use of the ClassRoots Edu website, platform and APIs (the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to them. If you are accepting on behalf of an institution, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

1. Use of the Services

You may use the Services for lawful educational purposes in accordance with these terms and any agreement between us and your institution. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account or data;
  • Interfere with, overload or disrupt the Services or their infrastructure;
  • Reverse engineer or extract our models, curriculum data or source code;
  • Use the Services to generate unlawful, harmful or deliberately misleading content.

2. Accounts

Accounts are issued through an institution or directly by us. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity carried out under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

3. AI-generated content

Parts of the Services produce explanations, feedback and assessments using AI systems grounded in curriculum data. These outputs are an aid to teaching, not a replacement for professional judgement. Educators should review AI-generated material before relying on it for formal assessment or reporting.

4. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the Services, including software, models, curriculum structures and branding. Content that you or your institution supply remains yours; you grant us a limited licence to process it in order to provide the Services.

5. Availability

We work to keep the Services available and performant, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance will be communicated to institutions in advance where practical.

6. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. Disclaimers and liability

Except where an institutional agreement states otherwise, the Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Services.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached or where continued access poses a security risk. Institutions may terminate in line with their agreement with us.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the date above and communicated to institutions using the platform.
